Paul Mitchell Schools Host Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support DayPaul Mitchell Schools across America will open their doors and extend a special invitation to cancer patients and survivors everywhere during the week of June 3, 2012, in honor of Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day. The nationwide event is a special moment for all men, women, and children cancer survivors – regardless of their type of cancer or when they were diagnosed – to receive a little personal kindness, warm support, and tender pampering.

Founded in 2003 in Illinois, Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day became a nationwide event when a Congressional Proclamation declared it an annual opportunity for schools, salons, spas, and the community to provide a special gift to cancer survivors throughout the country. Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day is a purely volunteer event, with no monies raised and no solicitations made. Thousands of volunteers from the spa, beauty, and related industries freely give their support and services on this day to all cancer survivors. Volunteers decide which services they wish to offer, and cancer survivors make their own appointments for that day.

Students and staff from the nationwide network of Paul Mitchell Schools will participate in a variety of ways, including opening their doors for a day of pampering, visiting local oncology units or cancer centers to provide services for patients and/or staff, and offering their students in-school education about caring for cancer survivors.
