Andrea Skelton, Mallory Hoffman and Eddie Neuangthavong and their winning "Katniss" Barbie Dolls.

Sonya and Christopher Dove, owners of The Doves salon in Santa Monica, CA, hold an annual in-salon "Style That Barbie" competition and the primary rule is to be fabulous.  The theme this year was built around the film, "Catching Fire" and its main character, Katniss. The team was asked to design a Katiniss-inspired Barbie using Hairdreams hair extensions and their imagination to bring the dolls to life. They were allowed to choose from three scenes from the movie featuring Katniss: The Ball Gown, The Bride and The Mocking Jay.

The winners (each of whom will receive a $500 cash prize from Hairdreams hair extensions) are Andrea Skelton, Mallory Hoffman and Eddie Neuangthavong.

Catching Fire has double-significance for The Doves who supported the movies’ lead hair stylist, Linda Flowers, by helping to create the elaborately intricate wigs and hair pieces for the supporting characters in the movie.

The Barbies from the competition will be auctioned off to charity in the coming months.
