TREND ALERT: Rockabilly Era Hair is Making a Comeback With Men

by Lauren Salapatek | February 6, 2014 | Bookmark +

ARROJO predicts men's styling will require a whole lot of cool and the attitude to match in 2014. The old Rock n' Roll era, specifically the American subculture of Rockabilly will make a comeback -- back then it was guys like Johnny Cash, Elvis, and Carl Perkins driving the trend and inspiring men to don the legendary Quiff. Today, it's Bruno Mars, David Beckham, and Henry Holland.

In forcasting such looks, ARROJO introduces four new products that will help achieve these styles in fashion. Three new and revamped additions to the line are hair gel, a non-sticky firm hold styler for sleeking and sculpting; cream wax, a matte finish product to help polish shapes; and defining cream, good for putting visible sharpness into looks.

As the year progresses, the ultra-groomed looks will change to a softer side called Modify, says ARROJO. The new direction in men's hairdressing is inspired by the 1960s British mod culture. Then it was The Rolling Stones and The Who, ow it's Jim Sturgess and Pete Doherty. Expect to see longer backs and sides with shorter tops, creating disciplined masculine shapes with deconstructed edges.

"We believe that great hear is wearable hair, and we're excited to be driving the next evolution of men's styling trends," says Nick Arrojo, founder of ARROJO.
