The nail and make up design is always extreme at The Blonds and it was outright intense for the fall/winter 2014 collection presented last night during New York Fashion Week. The fashion theme,"Comic Book Villians" was embraced, with joy, by both teams, celebrating evil from head to toe.

Jan Arnold and her CND team spent hours creating nail designs (for multiple changes) to complement the equally in your face fashion. "Our design lab was unleashed and created works of art like you've never seen before," she says. "including my favorite collection of all time...the set of the Joker Nails."

For make up, MAC's Kabuki focused on eyeshadow and strong lips, but it was the eyebrow that was creating the most buzz backstage. Kabuki pre-cut the paper shapes which he glued on each model to follow the dramatic shape of the fringe (check out the "hair" overview with Nick Irwin for TIGI).  "The shape is maniacal and evil," he says, "it has built in attitude."

MODERN met with Jan Arnold and Kabuki while visiting The Blonds backstage at Milk Studios where the show was held. Check out these interviews and learn more about the creative that goes in to these looks.
