Day One of fashion week was all about reinventing the classics (excluding the Chromat show!). From chignons and half-up half-down styles to men's sport cuts. Check out MODERN's recap below at Tadashi Shoji, Chromat, Perry Ellis and Kempner.
CHROMAT | Lead hair by: Chuck Amos for Oribe Hair Care | Styling tools by: T3
This season, lead designer Becca McCharen was inspired by the intricate lines of artist Sol LeWitt’s wall drawings, which played a key role in determining the beauty look. Lead stylist Chuck Amos created a highly editorial look featuring a topknot and winding cornrows to compliment the clothes.

KEMPNER | Lead hair by: Amy Farid for Oribe Hair Care
The Spring/Summer 2015 collection for Kempner played with the idea of contrast, with shiny cocktail dresses against trench coats made from matte materials and exposed skin from python-printed haltered crop tops worn with a full-length silk jumpsuit. "We wanted to create a look that embodied both femininity and masculinity,” explained Key Hairstylist Amy Farid.

TADASHI SHOJJI | Lead hair by: Rodney Cutler for Redken | Nail and Makeup by: Butter London
At Tadashi Shoji's ethereal, Venice-inspired Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon designed classic beautiful styles. The chignon gets a mini makeover with a braid at the nape of the neck. To compliment the sleek style, the Butter London makeup and nail team went for a flawless face and gold lattice nail art.
