MODERN SALON Media was given the tremendous honor to participate in a DoSomething.org Boot Camp and VH1-televised Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles, a program that encourages and coaches under-25-year-olds who want to create social change.

Matrix Color-A-Thon Fundraiser

Three Austin-area Matrix salons will be participating in the Celebrate Your Color Color-A-Thon Friday, March 9. Free hair color services will be performed in exchange for donations to the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center, which provides information, planning and support for young girls and their families with unplanned pregnancies. The event will be held at Bastrop’s Best Lil Hair House in Texas, and will be joined by the salon teams from LeAnn’s Salon of Bastrup and Heavenly Hair Salon and Spa of Elgin.

Stories from Salons Devastated by Hurricane Irene

Salons including The Cutting Edge, The Styling Corner and Shear Paradise in Owego, NY; and Paula McNeil, Image Salon and The Klip Joint in Athens, PA, faced a long rebuilding process after they were destroyed in August by the destructive one-two punch of Hurricane Irene and a severe tropical storm just several days later.
