What do the Hunger Games, Coachella, and Frozen all have in common? Fantastic braids! And based on trends on the Spring/Summer 2015 runways, braids are here to stay. This season, braids are all about adding a cool-girl twist that can be worn day or night.

At Erdem, the look was simple with hair pulled back into a single braid but kept loose for a soft romantic feel. Lead stylist Anthony Turner saturated the hair with a mix of Tecni.Art Densité and L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil to provide control and shine. He loosened up the braid by pulling out pieces with his fingers for that overall nonchalant softer finish.

Backstage at The Rachel Zoe Collection, L’Oréal Professionnel Artist Pepper Pastor celebrated the jet-set style of the 1960’s with a soft ponytail intertwined with a braid. Pastor added grip and texture to the hair with Tecni.Art True Grip to help keep braids tight and secure but without a stiff feel.

PROS RECOMMEND:

  • Tecni.Art Densité — thickening primer for building density and enhancing root elevation
  • L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil — multi-purpose oil to nourish, protect, discipline and illuminate hair
  • Tecni.Art True Grip — texturing powder for volume and hold
