The Spring 2016 Beauty Changes Lives (BCL) | CND | Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship Competition is now accepting applications through March 21, 2016 and will award five scholarships to individuals pursuing education in the professional nail industry.  Each recipient will receive up to $2,400 for nail education tuition at an American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) member school.

Established in 2014, the BCL | CND | Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship Competition is funded by CND and its valued distributors, honoring the legacy of nail industry pioneer and godmother of the Vietnamese-American nail industry, Tippi Hedren. The scholarship is administered by the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation, a non-profit, 501c3 that provides scholarship funding and elevates the perception of careers in the beauty industry. Since its inception, 40 BCL | CND | Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarships have been awarded to individuals pursuing nail careers across the nation.

The competition has captured the enthusiasm of some of the most influential nail professionals in the industry, and has inspired additional collaboration between the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and CND. During America’s Beauty Show on Sunday, March 13, CND will sponsor a NAILS Next Top Nail Artist Challenge with finalists creating nail designs that pay tribute to Hedren’s leadership, passion and commitment to supporting Nail Professionals, http://www.nailsmag.com/nexttopnailartist/2015/challenges/final-challenge-cnd. “CND is dedicated to empowering the next generation of Nail Professionals and a huge part of our commitment is focused on funding professional education,” says Jan Arnold, co-founder and style director of CND.

As the fifth BCL | CND | Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship Competition gets underway, applicants may apply via written essay, video or inspiration board. Each applicant is required to share how a career in the professional nail industry will make a difference in their life. Previous winners and their perspectives on a career in nail design are available at www.beautychangeslives.org. A panel of judges representing professionals and influencers in the professional nail industry will select the winners.

“It is inspiring to see how this scholarship is opening up possibilities for individuals from diverse life backgrounds,” says Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation. “The professional beauty industry has always celebrated diversity and dreams, and the judges have been moved by winners’ desires to change not only their own lives but the lives of others through a professional nail career.”
