Tonianne Munzelle (@njglamourguru), a hairstylist and makeup artist from Salon du Monde, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, is a color correction and balayage specialist. "I'm educated and trained in Goldwell, Lakme, Bumble and Bumble, Kerastase, Oribe, TIGI, Pravana, L'Oreal Professionnel and Tocco Magico. I currently teach color classes at Brick Ocean County Vocational Technical School to first and second year cosmetology students."

When we saw this transformation on Instagram we tracked down Munzelle to learn more. "Carrie had contacted me through Instagram, sending me pictures of various shades and styles of silver, gray and titanium-colored hair. She told me she was interested but had a previous bad experience trying to achieve this at another salon. I advised her to come in for a consultation. After consulting with her and getting a real feel for her hair and it's current integrity, I had a good idea of how I would go about this process."

SESSION ONE:

Carrie, a natural level 8, arrived with one inch of regrowth. Her mid shaft was a faded level 6, and her ends were already previously lightened to a muddy greenish gray.

Step 1: Apply Tocco Magico's Oxi Lightener on the mid shaft to break through that previous color that was applied.

Step 2: Apply Lamaur lightener on her roots. Process according to the manufacturers instructions but run the lightener through the ends for a few minutes "just to even everything out and remove some of that green undertone.:

Step 3: Tone Goldwell 10p Colorance with P mix on the root and 11p Top Chic with 30 volume on her mid shaft and ends. "The end result for the first session was the pearl blonde you see in the middle picture."

SESSION TWO:

Carrie came in for her second session with an inch of regrowth and her mid shaft and end toner had faded a bit.

Step 4: Touch up the root area with Goldwell's Silk Lift with 25 volume. Soap cap the mid shaft and ends at the sink to lighten her up just a bit more using Lamaur 20 volume with a bit of Bumble and Bumble Seaweed shampoo.

Step 5: Tone the mid shaft and ends with Tocco Magico's Ivory Ice.

Step 6: For the final result, coworker, Rachael Troncone (@rachaeltron) and and Munzelle applied Joico Titanium from roots to ends. Process according to manufacturers instructions.

Step 7: Style with Bumble and Bumble's Hairdresser's Oil and Defrizz to condition and nourish.
