I share with you a closing statement I wrote for cosmetology students at the Taylor Andrews Academy in Salt Lake City, UT.

You Can Do It

A wonderful world awaits you

Each client is your master teacher

Each person polishes off your life

Leaves behind a better understanding of all.

Fabulous lives will come before you

Fortune, wealth and influence

Fame stops at any doorstep

Eventually moving on
Leaving behind only what’s in your heart.

Always be a little kinder than necessary.

You will feel fear.

Decide how much fear to allow in your life.

Will you hope life treats you well or

Faithfully work for wonderful outcomes?

Why faith—not hope?

Hope is a lowly beggar, whereas faith

Faith fights all battles while hope lingers.

Always believe, not hope, in positive outcome

I hope I can be successful

I hope I can be a good hairdresser.

Doesn’t work

I know I will be successful,
I know I will be a great hairdresser

Works

Life will knock you down
And bring you back in focus
It’s always darkest before the dawn

Get up, dust off and get ready for greatness
It’s coming

Fall six times

Get up seven

You can do it, yes you can.
