Wella Education Names 2016 National Instructor of the Year

After being nominated regional instructor of the year, Danielle Markley of Hays Academy was announced as Wella’s National Instructor of the Year for 2016. As instructor of the year, Danielle Markley was awarded an all-expenses paid trip to attend the National Trend Vision Awards in Las Vegas on July 25, where she will receive her instructor of the year award live on stage.

Makeover: Color Correcting With Balayage

Shay Cottle (@hair_by_shayc) of Mandie Sue on Fifth Salon, American Fork, Utah, specializes in balayage and bridal hair. Formula: Pink To Silver Melt

Isabel Castillo (@Bellabru) of Bella Bru Sola Salon (inside the Sola Salons Suites), Sacramento, California, calls this gorgeous melt "I BELIEVE IN PINK". We just had to know the formula.

Here she shares the details:

Step 1: Pre-lighten with Joico Cream Lightener + 30 volume developer.

Step 2:  Balayage with Joico VeroLight powder lightener + 40 volume developer.

Step 3: To the root apply Joico Color Intensity 3 oz. Soft Pink with 1 1/2 oz. Pink.

Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship Program Accepting Applications for Fall 2016 Scholarships

 Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart and the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation (BCL) announce the opening of the Fall 2016 Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship Program application window. Applications will be accepted through September 19, 2016. Established in 2012, the competition celebrates the passion of aspiring hairstylists and the commitment of licensed hairstylists to push their career to new limits.
