Connecting Salon Leaders and Planning the Future of Beauty
Connecting Salon Leaders and Planning the Future of Beauty

On April 3-4, the members of Intercoiffure America Canada will meet in Chicago for their Spring Gathering. This year's event, which blends artistry with business topics designed to help members face the challenges of a changing world, is themed "Purpose. Power. Prosperity."

While networking among the members has always played a primary role at ICA events, President Sheila Zaricor-Wilson says it's even more important this year, as many members haven't seen one another for two years because of the pandemic. "So much happened in those two years, it feels like it's gone so fast," she says. "As salon owners, we need to get together and encourage and energize one another--and everyone is hungry for that."

The spring event features many firsts. "This is the first time we've had the visiting presidents from all the other Intercoiffure sections from around the world--they are coming in for their biannual meeting and stay for the Gathering," Zaricor-Wilson says. "And, that will unite us globally."

The event also represents a median point for Zaricor-Wilson, who completed her first term as the organization's leader, and is starting her second presidential term. Recently, she sat down with SALON TODAY's Stacey Soble to talk about her goal for connecting salon leaders, improving communication and establishing connection with the schools.
