Highlight and blonding season is upon us, which means the search for effective ways to repair damaged hair is intensifying. Luckily, the scientists at Redken have had a busy year, and one of their latest innovations promises to make hair twice as strong, 90 percent more conditioned and 14 times smoother, all with just one use.*

The new Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Treatment joins the existing lineup of Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave-In Treatment. Use it as a pre-shampoo treatment. The acidic, rinse off formula can be applied to all hair types and textures and works by infusing a high concentration of bonding actives to the hair. This bonding infusion adds strength by attaching to the weakened bonds in the hair fiber that have been damaged by lighteners, color treatments or heat styling tools. It also balances the hair pH. It can be used alone or incorporated into the full system for maximized benefits.

The new treatment promises to rejuvenate damaged hair like this after just one application.

“With all the new color and styling products on the market today, stylists and clients can create incredibly beautiful looks, but all that processing and styling can take a toll on hair health, leading to breakage, dryness and brittle texture,” says Redken Brand Ambassador and top colorist, Matt Rez. “For my clients that need a hair rescue quickly, I love to use the new Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Treatment for a high-powered, lightning speed boost that conditions and strengthens the hair while making it look silky and healthy.”

Stylists are adding the Acidic Bonding Intensive Treatment to the Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave-In Treatment regime for maximum strengthening and conditioning benefits.

Stylists are embracing the treatment to reinforce weakened hair bonds and maintain hair fiber on color treated hair; to infuse moisture and increase elasticity and bounce for curly clients; and to maintain health, increase moisture and reinforce weakened hair bonds on textured hair.  Redken Brand Ambassador Adrienne Dara has made it a “must” for most of her color clients. “I love being able to create bold colors on my clients and using tools to give them trending looks,” she says, “but it’s crucial that we have the right products in our salons to keep the hair feeling and looking healthy after processing. The new Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Treatment is my go-to for reviving hair that is overprocessed or in need of a refreshing jumpstart. It really gives strands more strength and conditioning shine.”

The treatment contains the highest percentages of Citric Acid and Bonding Care Complex, which are formulated in all of the Acidic Bonding Concentrate products. Citric Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid which helps reinforce weakened hair bonds. To use, apply the treatment to wet hair, lather and—this is the important part—leave it for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Follow with Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo and Conditioner. Pros are using the Intensive Treatment as a salon service as well as recommending it to clients for home use. It can be used alone with an existing client routine to experience bonding care within their hair routine or added to the full system for maximum benefits.
