“A creative evolution has taken form at ECRU New York, transcending the faceless into a lifeform of beauty. Mannequins represent our perception of the human body and its beauty for a specific time period as an evolutionary reflection. Faceless. Is she strong? Youthful or Vintage? Classy, Edgy, or Elegant? Redefine what beauty really means.”
ECRU New York’s latest collection features an assortment of hair designs created by Amanda Jenkins, Global Director of Education, styled on plain mannequins. The idea that we can transform these “faceless” mannequins into whatever image of beauty we want is central to this collection. They’re kind of like a blank canvas awaiting the art.
Collaborating with ECRU Artistic Director Lisa Lobosco and fashion designer Yun Qu, Jenkins designed the hair for this collection using Silk Nectar Serum and Smoothing Blow-Dry Spray, two hero products from ECRU that give the hair a silky, sleek finish. The collection plays with light, form, and texture to assemble an intriguing and mysterious representation of beauty.
