Ann Bray, owner of The Masters Salon in Huntsville, Alabama, has made a big name for herself as an Aquage Master Artist. |
THE COOLEST LOOK I EVER CREATED:
A hair style I call "The Shell," which was America's first and only Gold Medal winner in the World Championships of hairdressing team competitions.
THE CELEB I WOULD MOST LIKE TO MAKEOVER: Amy Winehouse, bless her heart.
MY FAVORITE TOOL OR PRODUCT: Aquage Finishing Spray. It's the perfect tool for building my designs because I can apply it in layers. It gives me the hold and control I need to create a really polished look that literally glows with shine. I couldn't work without it.
THE BEST THING ABOUT MY JOB IS: Meeting people from all over the world and going places I never dreamed to share the knowledge of hairdressing, and being allowed to do what I love and enjoying every minute of it.
I BECAME A HAIRDRESSER BECAUSE: Magic. As a six-year-old girl, every Saturday all my friends went to the movie theater while I went to the beauty salon. I had a special seat of my own next to the stylists so every Saturday I could sit and watch them work their magic. My love of hair began and has never stopped growing.
MOST PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT: My home is like a re-run of
101 Dalmatians, except I have Malteses and Yorkies.
MY MOTTO: There are no failures, only discoveries. Each challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.
MY SECRET TALENT: Preparation. I learned a long time ago that luck is where preparation meets opportunity-investing the time and energy and having the discipline to train and prepare allows you to perform
with brilliance.
