Women of Style: Sally HershbergerWhy did you choose beauty? I began styling hair at age 18, when my mom told me it was time to get a job—so I decided on beauty school. Styling hair was just a natural talent of mine. I am drawn to beauty and find it incredibly important.

Milestones: Styling Hilary Clinton for the cover of Vogue, working with John Frieda, and opening my three Sally Hershberger Salons.

Big break: Working with photographers Herb Ritts, Annie Leibovitz and Steven Meisel. They have all been inspirational and important to my career.

Career advice you’ve received: “Know your craft and your peers.” —Jim Moore, creative director, GQ magazine.

Career advice you’ve given: Be focused, pay attention to your surroundings and concentrate on what you’re doing.

Every day, just for you: I work out.

Working on? Wait and see. Lots of exciting things happening!
