Duncan’s SessionMichelle Charles Duncan knew what to expect at Artist Session— it was her second time taking MODERN SALON’s exclusive photo shoot workshop. “I had to come again,” she says. “I appreciate the opportunity to establish an editorial presence to other industry professionals—and to do that in MODERN SALON makes it even more special. To get a chance to work with the Artist Session team, especially photographer Roberto Ligresti, is priceless.”

Duncan selected model Andrea Debevc, a contestant on season 6 of America’s Next Top Model, from a pool of 80 models. “So many gorgeous models showed up for the casting, but Andrea caught my eye. I loved her bone structure. Even though Artist Session is all about styling, Andrea let me tweak her cut in to something a bit more angular and edgy. I was inspired by London’s street-punk style.”

The Artist Session goody bag turned out to be particularly special for Duncan. “I have many professional tools,” she says, “but was thrilled to be turned on to the new things found in the bag. I utilized four fantastic items: The Donald Scott Chop Stik Razor (a member of the Paul Mitchell Protools family) allowed me to define the edges of the hair. I used the BabylissPRO Portofino 6600 to blow dry the hair and add movement. Her hair is very fi ne, so I used the mini Cricket flatiron to get volume and lift, and the Sultra Wicked Gold Decadence flatiron for control.” Duncan’s Session

“That goody bag was really something special,” says Duncan. “Although I didn’t use it for this finish, my new favorite appliance is the RSession Tools Nalu Waver which was hiding at the bottom of the bag!”
