Beth Minardi and Mark Garrison joined forces to create a beautiful finish for our July issue. The duo requested a non traditional model for their Modern session. "I wanted to do something sexy," says Minardi. "I wanted to show how we could take a dark, heavy look and lighten it up for summer."

For color, Minardi created what she calls a "modern approach to ombre" placing golden, peachy highlights around the face and along the ends. "What I try to do is produce texture with haircolor," she says. "My zig zag partings and tight angles around the face allow for a flattering flow of color. For shade selection I create shades that are not necessarily natural, but what I think are better than natural... in this case warm, spicy and sexy."

For Cut, Mark Garrison chose to use his signature layer cut to complement Anastasia's face shape and type. "I gave her a classic model cut," he says. "It's simply a layered cut, with a face frame blended down from the chin to the length. This cut is great for all models AND clients, and works on just about hair texture."

In this short video, Minardi and Garrison break down the look, offering the haircolor formula and more detail about the cut.
