To celebrate this time of year, Hela Spa in Washington D.C. offers its Pumpkin Peel, a cleansing facial with added pumpkin enzymes to exfoliate and clarify the skin. Here General Manager Vanja Simovic offers us information about the service:

Description of the service:  The Pumpkin Peel Treatment at Hela Spa, is a powerful antioxidant treatment that brightens and rejuvenates the skin. The Pumpkin Peel Treatment will exfoliate, hydrate and tone the skin leaving it with a healthy glow. This treatment is very effective for people that may have not had a facial before, or want to try a peel. It’s a great starter peel to get clients skin used to the peeling process.

Interesting fact: Pumpkin contains the highest concentration of salicylic acid of any plant and offers more than 100 beneficial nutrients including the highest concentration of Vitamin A, C and beta-carotene. The Pumpkin Peel at Hela Spa is completely edible!

The Process: The Pumpkin Peel starts with a basic cleanse, which gently exfoliates the skin. Now that the seasons are getting colder, you want to advise your clients not to try anything too aggressive with their skin, because it becomes more sensitive.  The peel is then applied to the décolleté area and neck. Since the peel is mild, it can be applied to the eye lids and lips, (depending upon the client’s skin type which is determined during the consultation). The peel should stay on for 5-7 minutes, and then removed with a warm towel.

Frequency: The peel should be repeated every month, depending upon the client’s preferred results.

Duration: 1 hour

What’s included: The whole treatment comes with everything you would get with a normal facial: extractions; face, neck, shoulder massage; concentrated serums to target any skin issues, followed up with moisturizer and sun protectant.

Cost: $150

Number per month: 1 or 2 facials are requested per day.
