butter LONDON is making their New York Fashion Week presence known by creating eye-catching nails for Creatures of the Wind and Tadashi Shoji shows.

Marbled Nails at Creatures of the Wind

Lead manicurist: Katie Jane Hughes, butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador
Nail Lacquer colors used: Trallop and Teddy Girl for bases; Yummy Mummy, Diamond Geezer, Posh Bird, Pearly Queen and Billy No Mates for design
How it's done: Water marbling was used to create this design. The nails (675 in total) were individually made by hand the night before the show by Hughes and her team, and like snowflakes, no two nails were exactly the same.

STEP 1: Several drops of Nail Lacquer shades were dropped one after another into a bowl of water, which created rings of color.
STEP 2: Hughes then took an orange wood stick to swirl the colors together and create a range of patterns.
STEP 3: The press-on nail was then dipped into the water and allowed to sit just below the pattern she wanted to achieve on the nail.
STEP 4: The nail was removed from the water, and the pattern was transferred onto the nail.

Half-Moon Nails at Tadashi Shoji

Lead manicurist: Katie Jane Hughes, butter LONDON Global Colour Ambassador
Nail Lacquer colors used: Marbs (plus Nail Foundation and P.D. Quick Topcoat)
How it's done: Hughes applied butter LONDON Nail Foundation to the nails, then butter LONDON Nail Lacquer to create gold half-moons and tips. Completed with butter LONDON P.D. Quick Topcoat.
