THE VISION: “In a world where we all want to shine, Wella Professionals Illumina Color offers new shades for a new year and a new look,” Roybal says.

FORMULAS/APPLICATION: Natural Level 7

Formula 1: Wella Blondor Soft Blonde Cream mixed in a 1:2 ratio with 20-volume developer

Formula 2: Equal parts Wella Professionals Illumina 9/43 + 1.9% Color Touch Developer + Wella Professionals Color Post Treatment. (This combination allows an Illumina Glossing Service.)

Formula 3: Equal parts Wella Professionals Illumina 10/1 + 1.9% Color Touch Developer + Wella Professionals Color Post Treatment

STEP 1. Apply Formula 1 from scalp to ends. Process until pale yellow stage. Then cleanse and condition with Wella Professionals Color Post Treatment.

STEP 2: To tone, divide the top from the bottom with a zigzag parting that separates the layers and utilizes the shape of the cut to determine toner placement. This will create dimension that dances through the hair and a natural, shaded effect. Apply Formula 2 to bottom hairline/perimeter of the cut shape. Apply Formula 3 to top section. Process 20 minutes, then cleanse and condition. Photography: Robert Lynden for Wella Professionals.
