Top Editorial Make Up Artist James Vincent has applied blush to thousands of faces since he first picked up a make up brush professionally years ago. MODERN caught up with him recently at a photoshoot and asked if he had any advice for professional make up artists.

"The proper application and placement of blush is always a concern," he says. "When to use powder and when to use cream also seems to confuse professionals."

We asked Vincent to give some tips on blush placement and got some advice about make up brushes as a bonus. MODERN then threw a curve ball and asked how placement is different for a non-model, asking him to demonstrate on MODERN Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern.
