Frosted Matte, the new collection conceptualized by Arrojo master stylist Lina Arrojo, features modern razor-cuts, layers and bobs with rounded bangs, heavy fringes, and the artful deconstruction of shape. Yet it is the colors, formulated by Ali Eskridge and Zach Norman, that surprise and delight. These whimsical shades range from metallics, dusty pastels and translucent tones. By choosing to work with pastel, concrete, and dusty colors––rather than more traditional tones like red and brown––by tailoring the color applications to the shape of cut, and by using innovative foiling and hand-painting techniques that blend tones seamlessly, an iridescent quality is infused into each hue.
“In the past, greens and pinks and blues were associated with gutter-punk Goths, now they are associated with high fashion and celebrities. Increasingly, our clients are asking for color with a multi-dimensional, high-fashion feeling so it was time to create an editorial to reflect this trend.”—Lina Arrojo
