TIP From Cesar Ramirez, New Mizani Celebrity Spokesperson

by Maggie Mulhern | June 20, 2014

Celebrity stylist Cesar Ramirez has joined forces with Mizani as a media spokesperson and will lead Mizani photo shoots, participate in advanced training opportunities and share insider tips via social media. MODERN asked him to share one of his favorite tips and he decided applying protective products to chemically treated hair is important for just about every client, whether she is in or out of the spotlight:

“I always use a heat protecting product when applying heat to chemically (keratin, relaxed or color) treated hair,” he says,  “like Mizani's Thermasmooth Smooth Guard. I apply it to the hair while wet then a small amount again once it's mostly dry to make sure the hair is still protected even after the blow-dry.”

Who is Ramirez? Mizani offered an official bio:

Cesar grew up amidst hairspray and rollers in his family¹s small hair salon.  An artistic maverick, Cesar was determined to carve a space for himself within the beauty and fashion world early on.  Cesar has trained with top stylists, including Michelle Caruso, Ruth Roche, Jo Blackwell-Preston, Orlando Pita, Julien d¹Ys and Guido Palau. He began training at Dop Dop salon while building his portfolio. After landing his very first celebrity, Elizabeth Berkley, the rest followed, filling Cesar¹s book with accomplished and well-known figures.

Now 15 years later, his looks have been seen on several TV shows such as Celebrity Apprentice, All About Aubrey, and Lala¹s Full Court Life. Beyond his celebrity work, Cesar has collaborated extensively with a myriad of high-end brands. His work adorns the pages of Elle, Vogue, Harper¹s Bazaar, GQ, Latina Magazine, ID, and many others. He has also garnered recognition for the impeccable vision he brings to New York's  runways, where he has worked with fashion forward designers like Victor de Sousa, Katie Gallagher, Carlos Campos, and Narciso Rodriguez. He has been recognized by the industry¹s media outlets, where he has earned Best Hair for his work during Fashion Week on several seasons. Regardless of the platform, Cesar will always create a meticulous, clean, and polished look that merges structures, sexiness, and artistic allure.

Congrats to both Ramirez and Mizani.

There were MANY highlights from the 2019 MODERN Artist Connective Artist Session photo shoot held recently at the Eva Scrivo Salon in NYC, but one that caused a lot of buzz was the creation of the decorative florets created by Haley Garber (@beautybyhaleygarber).  Garber spent hours creating dozens of the florets that were eventually placed in the hair to accent the three final looks by Garber and her hair partner Stephanie Hodges (@stephstyles) who created the beautiful and dimensional color.
