How many times have your clients mentioned that their hair is thinning? How many ask your advice about their hair loss and how to combat it? It has been reported that most people bring these concerns to their hair stylist, even before seeking help from a doctor.
A growing number of hair salons and med spas are recognizing this fact and are offering products and services tailored to hair loss sufferers. “You can provide your clients with the help they need, and at the same time expand your product line and add a profitable revenue stream to your business with a system like HairMax,” says Fran Dubsky, HairMax marketing director. The HairMax LaserComb is the only home-use device laser light device which is FDA-cleared to treat hair loss and stimulate hair growth in both men and women. It is backed by seven clinical studies and a 93% success rate.
In appreciation of August being National Hair Loss Awareness Month, Dubsky suggests the following tips to help you start the thinning hair conversation with your clients.
Pay attention. “YOU may be the first the notice your clients hair thinning,” says Dubsky. “Suggest they start treatment as soon as possible to stop hair loss in its tracks and help regrow what they’ve lost. The earlier hair loss treatment begins, the better the results will be. Remember, once the hair follicle is dead, it cannot be revitalized. Your clients will appreciate your concern.”
Do your research. “When considering adding hair loss products in your salon, look for products that are FDA Cleared or have FDA approved ingredients for hair growth. Make sure the products have successful clinical studies, backed by physicians,” Dubsky says.
Design a Plan. “Offer your clients a full hair loss/thinning hair consultation and treatment plan,” advises Dubsky. “This can include monthly visits for scalp exfoliation, laser treatments, shampoos & conditioners specifically formulated for thinning hair - photograph their hair growth progress!”
Give them homework. “Many salons already offer hooded laser treatments for hair loss. A home use laser device, such as the HairMax LaserComb is a great way to help your clients keep up with the 3x per week treatment for more successful results. Use it to augment the salon hooded treatment, or offer it as a stand-alone treatment,” says Dubsky.
