"Versatility" is THE catch phrase in hair this upcoming winter. William De Ridder, artistic director for Pro-Duo hair plus and Paul Mitchell Belgium and Luxembourg predicts winter will feature various types of texture and layers breaking away from straight cuts that have been trending in past seasons.

As part of his 2014 Winter Frozen Collection seen here, De Ridder created three different haircuts that are both fashionable and versatile in finish and styling (you can see them each styled two different ways).

"Styling is important again and brings back and art sometimes neglected," says De Ridder. "Adding various styling elements to your client's hair can generate extra business and bring them back into the salon for extra visits."

In the Frozen collection, platinum shades of blue and pastels are prevalent, "because they go so well with the fashion colors seen in winter clothing this season," says De Ridder. "I chose the title Frozen when I saw the final photos of the shoot. It was a good translation for the purity of colors and femininity of the looks."
