This black and white collection is a celebration of hair’s shine, shape and femininity. “The Symphonic woman is classic, classy and timeless. She is fashionable and everpresent,” says Alexandra Newman-Sandowsky, a stylist at Australia’s Chumba Concept Salon Windsor.
Influences for Newman’s collection came from the prestige beauty campaigns of Chanel and Kerastase, mixed with the structural form of the 1960s and the iconic shapes of Vidal Sassoon.
“As hairdressers we have one of the best jobs in the world. We get to create every day. Individually we are inspired by different things, but helping to define and create a person’s image is what keeps me motivated.” —Alexandra Newman-Sandowsky
