The ratings are through the roof for the new TV series based on Battle of the Strands hair competition -- Global Beauty Masters. If you didn't catch all of the action last Tuesday, December 2 for the premiere, you can still tune in this Tuesday, December 9 at 5 p.m. (EST) (4 p.m. CST) on the Discovery Fit & Health channel. The show features teams of top professionals and their hair, makeup, nails and wardrobe skills.

The second episode in the the four-week Las Vegas series will feature Patrick Kalle, artistic director of Farouk Systems, Inc., and John Harms, founder and CEO of Millennium as mentor judges and presenters.

Teams are pressed to create out-of-this-world looks from head-to-toe and judged by photographer Babak, Arthur Christine Creative Director Dusan Grant, and American model Krista White

"Global Beauty Masters is America's Next Top Model meets Project Runway meets Face Off," says Farouk Shami, founder of Farouk Systems, Inc. and a mentor on the show. "It's fascinating to watch these groups of diverse artists, who have such passion for beauty, showcase their talent and skill while incorporating their different styles, cultural perspectives and techniques. The audience will be able to witness firsthand a total transformation right before their eyes."

Some up-and-coming mentors of Global Beauty Masters include:

  • Diana Schmidtke, men's grooming expert
  • Sam Villa, founder of Sam Villa and Redken education artistic director
  • Farouk Shami, founder of Farouk Systems, Inc.
  • John Harms, founder and CEO of Millennium
  • Peter Cardón, internationally renowned hairstylist
  • Scott Clish, makeup artist and costumer 

The team that wins will be named the Global Beauty Masters and receive $100,000 in cash and prizes.
