A team of cosmetology students and instructors from Tricoci University of Beauty Culture (TUBC) are set to style the hair and makeup of some of the world’s most talented salsa dancers at the upcoming Chicago International Salsa Congress, February 13-15, 2015 at Westin O’Hare Hotel.

It’s the first time TUBC has supported this world-leading Afro-Latin music and dance convention, with student teams from TUBC’s Chicago Northwest (Norwood Park) and Glendale Heights campuses set to beautify the performers.

TUBC will also have its own booth in the marketplace section to provide makeup and hair styling services to attendees; as well as provide information for anyone interested in exploring a beauty career.

The 14th consecutive annual Chicago International Salsa Congress celebrates the rich cultural legacy of Latin and Afro-Caribbean music and dance, featuring breathtaking performances by the world’s best Latin dancers, fantastic live Latin bands and practical workshops.

“We’re so excited be involved in this fun, creative international dance event, helping to make-over some of the most talented salsa dancers in the world!” says Jill Marcodes, executive director of cosmetology education at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. Our students love using their cosmetology skills at fast-paced industry events, like this one. It’s this type of real world experience that helps them become career-ready when they graduate.”
