Prepping  the hair is the most important part of any special-occasion look, according to Daniel Roldan, Matrix global artistic director. “You have to layer or cocktail product to build texture,” he says.

 

“Even though the finish may look undone, it needs a fabric. The professional must build product to support the design.”

 

For this session, Roldan selected from the range of 11 products from Matrix’s new Style Link collection, designed for prepping, styling and perfecting any look.

 

“Style Link also features three boosters formulated for hold, volume and shine,” he says. “They’re highly concentrated and can be mixed with any Style Link product to customize and amplify performance. The Smooth Setter Smoothing Cream controls frizz with easy, lightweight hold to give organic movement—but I like to cocktail it with Gloss Booster for extra frizz control and shine.”

 

Each product in the line also features  a QR Code and website for easy access to how-to videos, artist favorites and step by steps.
