TRANSFORMATION: Classic Balayage Beauty

Osmar Marquez (@Osmarjmarquez), an assistant at Salon Republic in LA, sent us this beautiful transformation and we asked for more details.

"Her hair was pre lightened to a level 8 on the ends with a slight orange pigmentation" says Marquez. "From mid shaft to a inch before the roots she had color that was a level 5, her regrowth was a natural level. The goal was to eliminate all the orange undertone and create lots of dimension. She wanted something she didn't have to upkeep so I made sure to darken up her roots with a blend to still create dimension and softness when the hair grows." Here he shares the HOW TO:

Step 1: Tease hair and foil with Redken Flash Lift and 20 volume developer. Keep 1/4 inch section between each foil.

Step 2: Balayage throughout with Redken Flash Lift with 30 volume developer. Using a babylight pattern, leave some hair without lightener to create lowlights and dimension.

Step 3: Rinse and then wash with a good purple shampoo.

Step 4: Using Redken Shades EQ, blend roots with 7nb+6g to create softness and a less dramatic regrowth. Process for 5 minutes. For the last 3 minutes apply 9v+9n to the rest of the hair.
