For this White Jasmine look, Ian Michael Black, Aveda global artistic director, hair color, pre-lightened hair to establish a perfect palette for creating subtle shade variations. “We customized the formula with Aveda Universal 0N to accommodate fine textures and achieve a very light result,” Black says.

FORMULA AND APPLICATION

Natural level 6

Formula 1: 1 scoop Aveda Enlightener powder lightener + 30 g Enlightener creme booster with 60 ml 10-volume color catalyst

Formula 2: 30 g Universal 0N + 10 g blonde finish in ash with 40 ml color treatment activator-liquid

Steps: Pre-lighten with Formula 1 until hair reaches the palest yellow stage, here 50 minutes. Then refine the residual warmth with Formula 2 to create a subtle ash shade that looks natural, not artificial. Here, processing is 5 minutes.
