Sadie Gray (@sadiejcre8s), based at Deja Vu Salon, Santa Rosa, California, posted this gorgeous transformation on Instagram and we had to know more.

"This is Marisol," Gray says.  "She is a natural level 4 with several layers of red box colors from her midshafts through her ends.  Before touching her color I shaped her hair and gave her long layers."

Get the color: Regal dimension

Step 1: Balayage in thin subsections using Wella Free Lights, 20 volume and 1/8oz of Olaplex. "I started in the front as I wanted the front and sides to be brighter and used foils to separate the sections so to promote heat for more lightening power," Gray says.

Step 2: Refresh the lightener and developer with 30 volume and Olaplex in the back sections.

Step 3: Lift to level 7/8 yellow-orange. Rinse and treat with Olaplex #2 Shampoo. Do not condition. Detangle with a Wet Brush and blow dry 100 percent.

Step 4: Now apply the fashion shades. Apply Joico Amethyst at the first 4 inches.

Step 5: Then apply equal parts Amethyst and Ruby Red for the next 3-4 inches.

Step 6: Lastly apply a mixture of Magenta with a ribbon of Amethyst through her ends.

Step 7: Separate the sections using Embee Meche and process for 25 minutes with no heat.

Step 8: Rinse with cool water until the water runs clear. Do not shampoo. Towel-dry and apply Living Proof Leave-In Smoothing Conditioner.
