Going Lighter With a Bit of a Shag

Jana came in wanting an edgier look," says Mendieta. "I gave her a shaggy haircut, and decided to accentuate that. Her overall goal is to go lighter, so I started her 'going lighter' hair journey!"

Mendieta adds, "Hands down, we nailed it. There is no reason why you can't fall head over heals in love with every stage. I absolutely love doing hair, and possibilities and wonders of what I could create! My Butterfly Loft Salon family truly make me want to raise the bar."

Here she shares the HOW TO:

COLOR FORMULAS:
Formula A: Wella Blondor Powder Lightener +10 Volume Developer
Formula B: Wella Blondor Powder Lightener +15 Volume Developer
Formula C: Wella Illumina 7/81 Medium Pearl Ash + Wella Pastel Developer
Formula D: Redken Shades EQ 7NB + Shades Processing Solution

APPLICATION:
Step 1: Take many THIN weaves from 1/2 sections. Clip the weaved section up.
Step 2: Apply Formula A to the front two sections and then formula B to the back two sections. Balayage going in on the sides of the section, then blend through the middle.
Step 3: Take the weaved section and apply lightener off scalp and then blend up to the root. Process for 30 minutes, then rinse.
Step 4: Apply Formula C all over the hair. Process for 15 minutes, then rinse.
Step 5: Apply formula D all over the hair. Process for 5 minutes, then rinse, shampoo and condition the hair.
