TIME FOR AN UPDATE: Going Lighter and Brighter

Kim Bruce (@hair_by_kimmmm), a blonde specialist at Finally Lisa's, Southbridge, MA, shares the details for this transformation that took 3.5 hours:

"This guest has been my client for a few years. I do her hair about three times a year. This particular time was our second session lightening her and she wanted to be as light and icy as I could get her. She had about a 3 inch root of natural level 4 and her ends were a level 8 with a lot of warmth."

STEP 1: Lighten up root and tone (and Olaplex) her mid length/ends. Root color: Pravana 6.11 40v with 2 inches of blue additive.  Mid length/end color: Rusk Demi 2oz 10.11 & 1 oz clear 5v with 1/4oz Olaplex No. 1.  Process with heat for 20 minutes then rinse and apply Olaplex No. 2 for 10 minutes. Rough dry.

STEP 2: Balayage back and sides with Wella Freelights 40v & 1/8oz of Olaplex No. 1.  On the top section, foil very fine slices and apply Matrix Flashlift 40v & 1/16 Olaplex. Balayage the ends in between each foil, covering them with Embee Meche.

STEP 3: Process for 20 minutes at room temperature.   Rinse and tone with Pravana Express Toner 1oz ash, 1oz violet 10v for 3 minutes. Rinse and apply Olaplex No. 2 for 15 minutes. Shampoo lightly and condition.
