The Self-Portrait collection from London designer Han Chong debuted at New York Fashion Week this season. The romantic designs were contrasted with strong, boyish and graphic hair, created by Bumble and Bumble Editorial Stylist Jimmy Paul.
“It’s very androgynous, very uniform,” said Paul. “Every single girl has a bang covering one eye. We wanted to offset the clothes which are super feminine.”
The models did not have long fringes cut for the show, but rather were sporting genuine, 100% virgin European hair bangs that perfectly matched the sleek, fine texture of model’s side-parted smoothed down hair.
“I used House Of European Hair Clip-On Bangs, my current favorite, to create a modern deconstructed edge,” said Paul. “We just clipped them in sideways, then cut them down with a razor to tweak them on each girl.”
