Kathy Nunez (@HairByKathyNunez) of Studio One Salon, Kennewick Wa, specializes in hair painting. She got the opportunity to put her specialty to use on this virgin haired client. "This little beauty contacted me wanting a huge change," says Nunez. "I couldn't resist the challenge! Having a clean virgin slate was ideal. She is a natural level 2/3 and wanted an icy rooty blonde with a hint of lavender."

Here she shares the details for this two-day process:

DAY ONE

Step 1:  Paint one inch sections with full saturation using Wella Blondor and 30 volume developer with Olaplex, placing in foils to retain moisture. Process for 70 minutes.

Step 2: Remove foil and re-apply Blondor with 40 volume. Process for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse and shampoo with Milkshake Silver shampoo to pre-tone. Follow with Olaplex #2.

Step 4: Shadow natural base with Fanola 5.11/ 9 volume developer "to add ash tone to base." Tone ends with Redken Shades EQ, 7P/8V

DAY TWO

Step 5:  Paint with Kenra No Ammonia Lightener with 30 volume using full saturation. Process for 45 minutes.

Step 6: Rinse and shampoo with Milkshake Silver Shampoo, followed with Olaplex #2.

Step 7: Towel dry and apply PM Shines (Paul Mitchell) 9A/9V. Process for 20 minutes. Rinse, condition and style.
