"This mommy-to-be came in with a grown out balayage and wanted something less maintenance and richer with color," says Claudia Cruz (@_claudiacruz_) of Marlene Weber Day Spa, Poughkeepsie, NY. "She had a natural level 5 on about 4-5 inches from her root down and the rest was balayaged to about a level 8-9."
Here Cruz shares how she granted her wish:
Step 1: Apply Goldwell TopChic 6G + 6N with 10 volume developer on her root and bring down about 4-5 inches "just to add some warmth to her natural color."
Step 2: Then apply Goldwell Colorance 7GB + 8N from the mid shafts to ends.
Step 3: Once all the color was applied, take small 1-1 1/2 inch section and comb from roots to ends with a fine-tooth comb. "This melts the colors into each other for a flawless blend."
Step 4: Process for an additional 10-15 minutes after combing out. Rinse, shampoo and condition the hair.
Cut into long layers and dry completely. Curl the hair with a 1 1/2 inch curling iron and the spray every section with Moroccanoil Extra Strong Hairspray. Brush the curls out with a Wet Brush for beautiful waves.
