THE MAKEOVER!
My client had decided to try and lighten her hair at home with products she bought from an open-to-the-public beauty store.

Using Paul Mitchell The Color 2NN + 20 vol - we re-deposited a deeper color to her base and brought it about 4 inches down to her mid-shaft.

Since my client had done so much lightening herself at home, it was extremely important to protect the integrity of her hair. Olaplex has allowed me to lightened her again to achieve an even canvas.

After processing to desired lightness, I melted her with 3A PM Shines for 5 minutes. Melting with a toner consists of applying the product to towel dried hair, in the sink. Starting at the root, work your way down the mid shaft, lightly rinsing with water to let the root ‘melt’ and tone the rest of the canvas. After rinsing, I applied Olaplex #2 to help rebuild the broken bonds in her hair. Then we shampooed using Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde Platinum, and conditioned with Paul Mitchell Forever Blonde Conditioner.

And here is our beautiful end result! A bright, smoky blonde ombre.

To curl her hair we used Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press Thermal Protectant Hairspray, and our Paul Mitchell Express ION XL iron.

Hannah Peterson  (@hannahnoelhair) of Gina Bianca Hair (@ginabiancahair), Southington, Connecticut, says "I have seen clients attempt to color or ‘fix’ their own hair, but I have never come across something like this! I understand the sense of urgency and fun when it comes to changing your hair color. I do it myself! But when urgency turns into an emergency, it’s time to rethink your DIY idea."

Here she shares the details for this lovely makeover:
