Celebrity stylist Laurie Heaps (@_hairbylaurie) embraced one of fall's biggest fashion trends when creating this look for Disney Channel star Rowan Blanchard—velvet!

Heaps used a velvet ribbon she found at Joanne Fabrics, but she says any craft store can provide you with this go-to hair accessory for fall.

GET THE LOOK: Velvet Pony
STEP 1:
Apply a small amount of Bumble and Bumble Thickening Creme Contour to dry hair to eliminate frizz and add shine.
STEP 2: Flat iron hair with the CHI Flat Iron, leaving some fullness at the roots.
STEP 3: Part hair in the middle and smooth into a low ponytail, securing with an elastic band.
STEP 4: Wrap pony with velvet ribbon about 3/4 of the way down. Tie a knot and cut ribbon.
STEP 5: Finish by gently pulling out baby hairs around the hairline for a more undone look.
