Amy McManus (@Camouflageandbalayage), owner of Trinity Salon in Fitchburg Mass. says "My guest contacted me after seeing my work on Instagram. She drove an hour to see me because she loved my blondes on my page." This client was previously highlighted, but she never felt light enough. "She wanted a lot of bright icy pieces and loved a lot of contrast. After out consultation, we decided to keep her natural base color and build off of that for the blend."

Step 1: Balayage using a 2 inch chip paint brush and Oligo Blacklight Balayage clay lightener and cool toned lightener with Olaplex and 40 volume developer.

Step 3: Apply Paul Mitchell's new POPXG color in "Steel" diluted with Olaplex number 2 for 20 minutes. Rinse in cool water and apply Joico Cuticle Sealer for 5 minutes. Rinse and apply Paul Mitchell The Detangler.

"After a light trim, I applied Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil and Awapuhi Wild Ginger Mirrorsmooth Primer to her hair and blew it dry. Prior to thermal work, I applied Paul Mitchell Hot Off the Press thermal protecting spray and Paul Mitchell Hold Me Tight Spray. I curled her hair using Hot Tools 1 1/4" Marcel iron and finished with Schwarzkopf Volume Up Spray."
