For Aveda Guest Artist Lupe Voss’ latest collection, she worked in a three-color palette to create a graphic transition in color, inspired by Picasso’s Pirouline painting.

“The color combination of this painting just made me stop,” Voss says. “The colors play off each other with where they sit within the hair cut.”

But the Picasso inspiration didn’t end with the color selection—the artist’s single-line drawings played a big role, too.

“The drawings are so simple but at the same time so powerful,” says Tristan Morrison, senior educator and creative director, Aveda Institutes Canada, “The line’s simplistic visual elements created the futuristic mood of the cuts.”
