How social media changed your life: Social media provided the opportunity to create a live, interactive portfolio of my work for clients and potential clients. This allowed me to skip the traditional career path of being an assistant, then a junior stylist, then a stylist, etc. I was never an assistant and worked at one salon for about four weeks. I never would have been able to build up a reputation without a virtual platform. Eventually beauty writers found me and began publishing my work on their websites, which afforded a world of exposure.
