Faded Apricot To Powerful Pink

Amanda Lyberger (@thehairygodmotherr) of Vivid Hair Design, Plano, Texas, says her client, a natural level 7, fine hair with medium thickness, was in the market for something new. "A year ago, she had her base tinted to a level 6 and she had an ombré over darkened hair, so her ends were more porous than the rest of her hair."

Here Lyberger shares the details for this makeover:

"I went through 1/2 inch sections and applied Wella Blondor lightener with 20 volume developer to the sections of her hair that had been colored level 6. Then I went through and applied Wella Blondor with 13 volume developer to her virgin hair, keeping 1/2 inch away at her new growth. I then went back through and applied the lightener with 6 volume on her first 1/2 inch and her porous ends, while making sure the lightener I had already applied was still saturated and moist. I checked the lightening progress of her hair every 5 minutes, and at about 25 minutes her hair was lifted to a level 9. After shampooing the lightener out and completely drying, I mixed one part Kenra Neons Fuchsia with 4 parts conditioner and let it process for 30 minutes.
The entire process, including the blow dry and style out, took about 5 hours."
