Electrified Spectrum: Rainbow Prism Color from Pulp Riot

The full spectrum is the band of colors produced when sunlight passes through a prism and creates an array of colors, such as a rainbow. This technique uses the intensity behind the spectrum to beautifully capture the hair in motion with Pulp Riot color.

Formula & Application:
Natural level 4 with eight to 10-inch roots that blend to previously lightened level-9 ends

Formula 1: 1 oz Pulp Riot #blondeAF Lightener + 1½ oz Pulp Riot 20-volume developer
Formula 2-8: Pulp Riot Electric, Neon Jam, Candy, Lava, Firefly, Mercury, Area 51, Pulp Nirvana

1. Apply Formula 1 starting in back and working from the nape to the crown to the front sections. End at the top of head. Use 1-inch V-sections and sweep the lightener upward to create a soft blend. Bring balayage pieces higher through the mid-section and separate them with meche as you work. Do not overlap on the level-9 ends. Stay 2-3 inches away from the roots for a stretched-root look. Process 15-20 minutes from last application until you reach level 9. Then shampoo and blow-dry. (Don’t tone or condition.)
2. Return to the nape and begin applying Formula 7 at the ends. Work upward and across, as you take ¾-inch horizontal sections and create a rainbow pattern by alternating the formulas in the following order: Formula 7 (ends), Formula 6, Formula 5, Formula 4, Formula 3 and Formula 2 (nearest the root where Level 4 meets Level 9). Apply about 2-3 inches of product and continue the alternating pattern until you reach the top. Process 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water (do not shampoo).
