Calypso: Copper and Red Hair Color Formula from Wella

by Victoria Wurdinger | October 31, 2017

The trend toward muted steels, beautiful neutrals and rich vibrant contrasts of copper red inspired this Wella waterfall of painted colors, which recalls a stormy sunset moving into peace.

Formula & Application:
Natural level 5

Formula 1: Koleston Perfect 5 g 12/81 + 4 g 12/17 with 18 g 12% developer
Formula 2: Illumina 5 g 5/81 + 2 g 6/16 2 g with 7 g 3% developer
Formula 3: Innosense 8 g 77/44 + 1 g 10/95 + 2 g 0/0 with 11 g 3% developer

1. Apply Formula 1 to the base so it matches the ends. Process 40 minutes, then rinse, shampoo and blow dry.
2. Section out triangles in a hexagonal pattern at the crown and clip away. Section out the same pattern below crown and apply Formula 2, skipping every other section. Process 35 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and dry.
3. Apply Formula 3 to the previously sectioned crown. Create a root shade, starting from front of head, working back and skipping every other section. This creates a water-fall effect. Process 35 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and dry.
