ColorProof's Twisted Low Ponytail

Ponytails don’t need to be boring; here’s a new take by ColorProof on a classic style to make it more modern-looking and less old-fashioned. The functionality is still there, where the hair is still pulled back, but it's combined with a French Twist, which give it a whole new look.

STEP 1 : Create a loose curl throughout the hair using a large barrel curling iron and IronMaster Color & Heat Protecting Setting Spray.

STEP 2 : Section front from back over the ears and left from right down the center back.

STEP 3 : Take a 2-3 inch triangular section at the nape and backcomb firmly to create a base using TextureCharge Color Protect Texture + Finishing Spray for support.

STEP 4 : Direct all hair in the back into a low, loose ponytail. Holding the elastic, twist and secure onto the back of the head in a French twist shape.

STEP 5 : Moving to the right, backcomb on the backside of the sub-sections using diagonal strokes. Apply a small amount of CraftingPomade Texture + Hold + Shine to smooth the top and sweep front right section across back of the head in an S shape.

STEP 6: Use hairpins as placeholders as you create your shape.

STEP 7 : Once you have your right side S in place, backcomb the rest of the hair and gather it back off the face. Twist and secure into base you created in the ponytail.

STEP 8 : Moving to the left side, do the same. Then, continue twisting sections back and forth across center and securing until you run out of hair. Lightly backcomb ponytail.

STEP 9 : Finish with your favorite ColorProof Hairspray and HumidityRx Anti-Frizz Weatherproof Spray.
