"My client had an old balayage professionally done to which she then covered up with some 'at home' color," says Tosha Tuzon (@NacoleTuzon) of Beauty Brands in Kansas City, Missouri, an artist MODERN met at the most recent Redken Artist Connection (RAC) training held earlier this year. "Her hair was very dry and weak from the self coloring she was doing. She’s a busy mother who is also an esthetician."

Here Tuzon shares the details for this correction which took 5 hours.

Step 1:  Level out the hair with a pre-treatment process. Use Redken Cleansing Cream shampoo to rid any built up oil and debris. Then apply Redken PreArt Treatment and process for five minutes. Rinse and condition with Redken All Soft. Dry the hair.
Step 2: Lighten zones 2 & 3 with Redken Flash Lift with 30 volume developer. For bond integrity with my lightener add 4ml of Redken Ph Bonder. Lift to a yellow, rinse and use Step Two of the Ph Bonder. Process for 10 minutes and rinse. Shampoo and condition with Redken Extreme. Dry the hair.
Step 3: Shadow root and toning phase. At zone 1 I apply Redken Shades Eq 1oz 06N plus .50 oz 06t and 1.5 oz processing solution. Smudge out this color in some areas to zone 2. At zones 2 & 3 apply 1.5 oz 09t with .50 oz 08V + 2oz crystal clear and 4 oz processing solution. Process for 25 minutes. Shampoo and condition with Redken All Soft.
Step 4: (Cut) She expressed growing her hair out during our consultation but wanted a softer look. So I trimmed her existing length and gave her soft seamless layers.
Step 5: Style with Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Treatment and Glow Dry Style style enhancing blow dry hair oil finish.
