The Make Up Show is Coming to the Big Apple.

by David Maderich

As a make up artist, I am constantly working on my craft and learning new skills. One of my favorite places to learn new techniques and to fall in love with the latest concoctions of powder and paint is The Makeup Show. I’m excited to share with you that the next show is in my adopted hometown of New York City on May 6th and 7th, 2018.

At past shows, I’ve learned some of my favorite tips and tricks including new and faster ways to apply false eyelashes by cutting them into pieces, creating foolproof winged eyeliner with scotch tape and how to contour and highlight the face using black pigment! . I also get tons of inspiration just walking around and networking with fellow makeup artists.

And can we talk about mingling with the big names of the industry? I love learning from the top industry experts that will be speaking, teaching and sharing their knowledge in classes, demos and workshops at The Makeup Show. This years list of speakers include: Bobbi Brown discussing her career in makeup, Miss Fame detailing her glamorous style of makeup, Jordon Liberty showcasing his Instagram fame and social media techniques, Kevin James Bennett demonstrating building the perfect kit and Danessa Myricks on contouring and complexions.

And if you’ve come to shop, well shop away with more than 50 professional and luxury brand companies including new Makeup Show vendors Pat McGrath Labs and Marc Jacobs Beauty as well as Hourglass Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Mac Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, Inglot, Kevyn Aucoin, Dr. Brandt Skincare, Smashbox and Frends Beauty Supply all at pro discounts.

As I mentioned, I can’t wait for this one, but for my fellow makeup  artists that cannot make it to New York City, make sure to carve out some time to go to the Makeup Show in any of these other cities: Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles.
