Most viral post: If I remember correctly, my most viral post was a black to silver to purple ombré. I think the reason why was that the cut and color went super well together. It was an A-line bob and the color was super melty! I was pretty new to Instagram and only had a few thousand followers, so it was a shock to me. I was reposted on big named Instagrams. It was super cool and I couldn’t believe it.
Favorite apps: Phonto lets me put my watermark on it with a font that I like. Each time I post a pic, my watermark is different, so it allows me to place my watermark in a different place each time that is cohesive with the hair. Facetune has an intense blur feature to blur out background.

Pro tips: Time when you’re posting and captions are important. I feel like the more you explain in your captions, the more your audience understands what happened during the process. Listing products used, processing times, before pics, and techniques used are all great ways to engage your audience. I do not like posting formulas because formulations will be different for every single person. Lighting is also key. Posting a pic should resemble what the hair looked like in real life. With proper lighting and backdrops, it helps the picture portray what it actually looked like in person. I prefer non-direct natural lighting or if that’s not available, I use my Divaring ring light.
Hidden talent (beauty-related): Everyone sees me as a colorist but I absolutely love cutting hair. I also want to learn how to barber. Maybe someday.
Hidden talent: I used to be a dancer. My dream was to be a backup dancer for a famous celebrity or a famous choreographer.
How social media changed my life: Social media has definitely changed my perspective on this industry; it’s a platform where like-minded individuals can express themselves and show the world what they can come up with. It also helps to stay in the loop with education and tutorials. With opening my studio, it definitely has put me on the map and I have people from all over the country sit in my chair and tell me that they found me on Instagram. If that isn’t a cool feeling, idk what is!
